April 8, 2010 to April 9, 2010
Staged by Quebec singer Robert Charlebois, this show traces part of the history of francophone cabarets over the years, from the early sixties on. To act this musical, emotional and humoristic retrospective, four pioneers: singers-songwriters Claude Gauther, Pierre Calvé and Pierre Létourneau, along with humorist and imitator Jean-Guy Moreau. Each artist has had a long career in stage performance and still writes songs and albums. Accompanying musicians are Michel Robidoux and Michel Donato. To see these long-time friends together in Il était une fois.... La boîte à chansons (Once upon a time, cabarets) operates a real charm on the audience. The Franco-manitoban group Les Surveillantes will open these two evenings.
