The well-known owner of Rumor’s Restaurant and Comedy Club has passed away. Ross Rumberg, 58, died Sunday night.

When someone funny passes all the comedy stops. I’m sure I speak for all comedians who had the chance to know Ross that he was a joy to work with. He loved comedy and he let us know that he appreciated the road we chose. Always fair and even tempered, Ross was one of those guys you looked forward to talking to on the phone and seeing in person. They aren’t a lot of owners in the biz you can say that about. I am sad and feel the loss. Winnipeg and the stand-up world is lucky to have had him.
