The celebrated Franco-Manitoban community choir, La Chorale des Intrépides, will celebrate its 50th anniversary in a gala concert with the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra (WSO)!
La Chorale des Intrépides began in 1960 to celebrate and encourage participation in French-Canadian culture. Participating in the choir allows members to express their love of music and promote traditional choral singing, an integral part of French-Canadian heritage. The group, made up of members of all ages, has developed a varied repertoire encompassing serious moods as well as light ones from the classics to the modern composers, including folklore.
The WSO will perform with the 100 voices of the adult choir, as well as the youth choir Les Petits Intrépides. Special guest soprano Tracy Dahl, will be featured in a program of traditional, classical, popular and original music all under the baton of Marcien Ferland.
