True North Sports & Entertainment Ltd. is pleased to announce “The King of Parody” is once again coming to MTS Centre when “Weird Al” Yankovic hits the stage on Thursday, August 5th in support of his latest effort The Essential “Weird Al” Yankovic.

According to his website, The Essential “Weird Al” Yankovic is “a jam-packed two CD collection of Al’s best from his 12 studio albums”, including such legendary hits as “Eat It”, “Like a Surgeon”, and “Amish Paradise” his very first top 10 album ever, as well as his most recent hit “Canadian Idiot”.

Music lovers will recognize such other hits as “Bedrock Anthem,” “Smells like Nirvana” or “Fat”. Diehard fans will also be listening for his own songs. About half of the songs on Al's albums are originals, meaning that Al wrote the music as well as the lyrics. Some originals are in the style of another artist (like “Bob” or “Genius In France”), but they’re still entirely new compositions. Whichever it is, the songs are sure to evoke peals of laughter from the audience and that’s without taking the accordion into account!
