Stompin’ Tom is in the 46th year of his incredible music career since his break in Timmins, ON, of which he overcame a life of poverty and hard knocks to become the revered recording artist he is today. Last month, the Toronto Musicians Union awarded Stompin’ Tom their Lifetime Achievement Award and 50 Year Membership Pin to add to his unbelievable list of accolades which also includes: officer of The Order of Canada, the Queen’s Jubilee Medal, The Governor General’s Performing Arts Award, SOCAN’s Lifetime Achievement Award, recipient of three Doctorates from the Universities of St. Thomas in Fredericton, UPEI in Charlottetown and U. of T. in Toronto and his very own Canadian Postage Stamp.
