Manitoba Homecoming Concert Highlights Human Rights

Manitoba Homecoming 2010 today announced the lineup for their summer concert at The Forks which will include a visit by Her Majesty the Queen and His Royal Highness the Duke of Edinburgh.

The Manitoba Homecoming Concert for Human Rights will take place on Saturday, July 3rd on the Scotiabank Stage at The Forks and admission is free.
Performers include:
• Chantal Kreviazuk
• Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra
• Royal Winnipeg Ballet
• Chic Gamine
• Eagle & Hawk
• Sierra Noble
• Inward Eye
• Keith & Renee
• Dominique Reynolds
• The Duhks
• Corneille
• Les Surveillantes

Concert goers will have a chance to learn more about human rights initiatives through the “Human Rights Village” that will feature displays from a variety of NGO’s that are involved in the protection and promotion of human rights in Canada and around the world. Attendees will also get the opportunity to see the Queen unveil a cornerstone at the site of the Canadian Museum for Human rights.

Ten thousand concert attendees will receive complimentary human rights star pins as a reminder to take action to promote human rights in the years leading up to the opening of the museum and beyond.

Following the Queen’s visit, the celebration will continue with a bilingual concert which will be filmed by Rivard Productions and aired on TFO later this year.
