The Wooden Sky with special guests Yukon Blonde

Since 2003, the Toronto collective has been pushing the limits of folk and country, adding pieces of outside influence and slowly growing their own unique sonic aesthetic. It’s all led them to their newest musical endeavor, If I don’t come home you’ll know I’m gone, a massive undertaking that sweeps through rock and roll subgenres with the deftness of the Allman Brothers, the songwriting focus of Wilco, and the experimental sonic cacophony of the Flaming Lips.

With musicians such as: Heather Kirby (Ohbijou), Debra Jean Creelman (ex-Mother Mother), Jessica Moss (Silver Mount Zion), Howard Billerman (ex-Arcade Fire), Edwin Huizinga (Mars Volta) to name a few. Ultimately, the Wooden Sky is the sound of collective will; a group of individuals coming together to forge something bigger. With a new record and new friends to help them play it, the Wooden Sky are poised to push “folk rock” into something new and exciting.

Vancouver’s Yukon Blonde record their debut self-titled album which was released by Bumstead Records in both Canada and USA. A band that borrows from the best; looking for influence in 60’s rock harmonies, thick yet simple hooks, and depression-era furniture upholstery, they have been compared to Supertramp, Fleetwood Mac, and Crosby/Stills/Nash. Yukon Blonde has received rave reviews from such publications as Exclaim, Under the Radar and Billboard and they hope to catch your attention too.
