The Ken Segal Gallery is pleased to present Winnipeg artist Robert Sim’s first solo exhibition , Selected Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture. Sim has participated in many group shows in our gallery as well as others. Most notably, Sim was included in the Subconscious City show and book at the Winnipeg Art Gallery in 2008, curated by Shawna Dempsey and Lorri Millan. Robert Sim Selected Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture show opens with an artist reception on September 12, 2009 from 2 to 4pm and runs until October 3.
Pablo Picasso said “painting is just another way of creating a diary.” With Sim’s solo exhibition that is what one sees, the diary or life of an artist. Sim works in a variety of media and styles. For example in his Winnipeg landscapes, one sees beautiful glimpses into life along the rivers. From amazing night paintings with the sparkle of lights to the amazing light in the field Sim’s paintings reveal the hidden gems to the viewer. Sim’s work has been collected by government, corporate and general public.
