Hansel and Gretel

November 16, 2009 to November 22, 2009

This 60 – minute production is geared for 3 years old and up, and is filled with audience participation. The unique part of the production is that it is being presented by a band of Gypsies who are trying to decide what production should be presented. With the help of the cast members, they decide on “Hansel and Gretel”.

We find a very humble and poor family trying to make ends meet by selling what the can make to survive. The mother sends the children out into the woods to pick berries, only to have her husband come home with good news. He also tells a the story he has heard in the village of a Witch who lives the woods. With the help of the audience Hansel and Gretel survive and it ends happily for everyone but the Witch. The story is told in a gentler way than the original by the Brothers Grimm.
