On the first Wednesday of each month Winnipegers will be invited to listen to live music in our new Assiniboine Community Hall acoustic space. On these special nights we will also celebrate the opening of a monthly art exhibit by local professional and youth artists. It is the perfect opportunity to experience home grown talent in an intimate setting for a low price of $5 per ticket. Pudding will be available for purchase.
Carly Dow writes songs that draw you in. Her weapons of choice are an acoustic guitar and harmonica, backed up with insightful lyrics, and a unique, smoky voice. She has been fortunate enough to play four times at the Winnipeg Folk Festival with the Young Performer's Program, and a variety of other venues in her hometown.
Born and raised on the Canadian plains, Del Barber has found a new home on stage, winning audiences across Canada and the United States with raw talent and ample doses of charm. Barber’s official debut, Where the City Ends, is an assured and cohesive collection of prairie-born folk songs that explore the tension between urban and rural life.
