The Last Dog of War

November 5 - November 14, 2009

Theatre Projects Manitoba, Costume Museum of Canada, 109 Pacific Avenue

Description

Linda Griffiths’ The Last Dog of War is a one-woman Battle of Britain. “War was part of my childhood. My brother’s line is, we thought the Second World War was still going on.” It tells the story of a trip she makes with her father to the U.K., to the last reunion of his RAF comrades, the 49th Squadron, Bomber Command. It’s a fierce and wondrous trip as they travel through many obstacles towards guns blazing in the night – from urban North America to the empty airfields of the Lancaster bombers. It’s the story of a long ago war and a present war: between the Allies and Nazis – between a father and daughter.
